Let's begin with detoxification.

It's time to begin feeling like a million bucks.  Easier said, than done, that's for sure!  I always do so well at the beginning of a diet.  I feel motivated and ready, then two days later, give in to pizza, ice cream, barbecue, and everything cheesy and fried.  Not this time, though.  My boyfriend, Craig, is from Las Vegas and we're planning a trip to see his family at the end of July.  I want to be able to walk the strip with confidence and not with this chubby tummy.  Here's a picture of us at the lake on Memorial Day.  Yikes... you can see why I'm looking for a healthy alternative...

 
 
 
...so today I begin with detoxification.  I need to cleanse my body of toxins and sick bugs and kill those cravings that get to me so easily.  It's going to be hard and I'm going to need a LOT of discipline.  I am beginning the Master Cleanse today.
 
How it works:
 
10 days of "lemonade"
 
Begin your day with 32 oz of un-iodized salt water.  Tastes gross, but the results will be worth it.
 
Next, mix two tablespoons of fresh, organic lemon juice, two tablespoons of organic maple syrup, and a sprinkle of cayenne pepper with 10 oz. of water.  Drink this concoction 12 times a day.
 
It sounds crazy, but this diet has been around for a very long time and has been known to cure illness, food addictions, and even cancer!  Bring it on.  I'll have plenty of posts to follow up on my progress.
